My next podcast episode is coming out on Friday and it's all about time management as a mom. When I became a mom, I realized how little I was implementing time management. I felt I was in response mode for most of my day.  I couldn't get a leg up.

I had a lot of knowledge about time management, but I had no idea how to implement it in a new season of life - motherhood. Motherhood means you are "on call," even when there is a sitter and even when your children are at school. When we master how to plan and schedule, we set ourselves up to live the life we want to live. 
Friday I’ll be sharing four strategies that anyone (But especially moms) can use to plan their days. Our currency in this life is time, how are you spending yours?
Mom burnout is a real thing. It happens when we are not intentional with what we consume emotionally, mentally, and physically.

I've been working hard to find businesses that support ethical sourcing, fair trade, and high-quality products. I know it doesn't seem that buying from wholesome companies has a lot to do with avoiding burnout, but I disagree.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I wholeheartedly believe there is a direct connection between living a fulfilled life and buying products and media that come from sources of love and sustainability. I believe everything is an exchange of energy and it's important for your wellbeing to participate in exchanges that fill the buckets of everyone involved. It's the idea of surrounding yourself with thoughts, foods, and things that spark joy AND that these things also add to the quality of life for the person who is making or selling it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One of the companies I've been researching is @brandlesslife They have a variety of health, beauty, cleaning, and food products for $3.00. Being able to purchase non-toxic and sustainably sourced items shouldn't be reserved for people who have a bigger budget. Being healthy shouldn't be a luxury.

The sinking, whirlwind feeling of anxiety settled in my soul a lot my first year of motherhood. I wanted so hard to do right by my daughter. I loved her so much, that I felt anything less than perfection wasn't good enough.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It's not fun and looking back it robbed me of so much joy during her first year. A little after she turned one, I found an amazing coach and therapist who helped me dig up, sort, and throw away the negative beliefs that were trying to protect me from stepping into my power as a mother.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

For me,  those thoughts kept me small - because if I never messed up as a mom, I thought I wouldn't hurt my daughter. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

But a good mom messes up. She does. When we mess up as mothers, we are showing our children everything it is to be human. We are showing them how to forgive yourself, how to ask for forgiveness, how to sit with those icky feelings and FEEL them. We show them how uncomfortable situations can grow us closer together when we apologize. And we teach them the best apology is changed behavior. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

We have so much to think about when it comes to raising children. We want our girls to be raised strong and know how beautiful they are in a society that tells them they will only have beauty and strength with the right clothes or makeup. We want to raise our boys to be compassionate and know their strength lies in more than their physical stature, but in their ability to be vulnerable and listen. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I believe with everything I have you are a good mom. What beliefs are holding you back from stepping into that divine power?
I see society breaking away from believing self-care is bubble baths and glasses of wine, but I also see so many of us struggling to take care of ourselves.

Here is the thing, self-care is just as multifaceted as you. While eating healthy is a great way to nourish your body and soul (and it definitely elevates all areas of self-care), JUST eating healthy isn't enough. Just like ONLY working out or ONLY developing a spiritual practice is enough self-care.

It's so important that we become introspective and analyze what our body, mind, and soul need. When we are able to scan ourselves and listen, we can strategize our self care to keep us feeling vibrant.

When self-care is hard, do the work. When it doesn't work out the first time, keep doing the work. When people tell you it won't happen for you, do the work.
